Flora was a short injection molding project completed as part of a two-person team. The molded flowers were approximately 3" in diameter and made from dyed HDPE.

The flower itself was first designed on SolidWorks, with a nominal wall thickness of 0.1", filets of 1/8" and draft of 3 degrees. With the help of SolidWorks Plastics Simulations, the design was refined to reduce sink and avoid warp, while using parameters compatible with the G-100T Morgan Press Injection Molder. Two halves of the mold were machined with the help of SolidCAM on a 3-axis HAAS Minimill.
